    Tap +1 or −1 as you count. Changes are saved as you make them — there’s no save button to remember.

  3. See what’s low

    Home shows what’s low, what’s expiring and which counts are still open, with alerts when stock drops below the level you set.

  4. Share

    On the Team plan, invite staff with a link. Everyone works from the same shop, and the price doesn’t change when you add people.

Questions shopkeepers ask.

Is Magpie available on Android?
No. Magpie is a native Apple app for iPhone and iPad. There is no Android version and no web version.
Do I need a Magpie account?
No — there is no Magpie login to create. The Free plan works entirely on your device. Syncing and team sharing use the Apple Account (Apple ID) already signed in on your iPhone.
How does iCloud sharing work?
Sharing is part of the Team plan. From Share with Your Team, the shop owner sends an invite link by Messages or email. Tapping the link opens Magpie on the teammate’s device and they join with their own Apple Account — no new account to create. Everything in the shop is shared: products, categories, locations, suppliers, purchase orders, transfers and counts. The owner can see who has joined, invite people as editors or view-only, and remove anyone from the same screen.
Can my employees use Magpie?
Yes — that’s what the Team plan is for. One flat price covers the shop rather than each person, so adding staff doesn’t change what you pay Magpie. Each person needs their own Apple device and Apple Account to join.
Can I import a spreadsheet?
Yes. Save your spreadsheet as a CSV and import it — Magpie walks you through matching your columns. Only a product name is required; barcode, quantity, cost, price, category, location, minimum stock, supplier, supplier SKU and reorder point can all come across. You can create new products, update existing ones matched by barcode, or both. Import is included on every plan, Free included.
Can I export my inventory?
Yes, on Pro and Team. From Reports you can export your inventory, valuation, low-stock and stock-movement reports as CSV or PDF — useful at year-end or for your accountant. Export isn’t part of the Free plan.
Does Magpie work offline?
Mostly, yes. Scanning, counting and adjusting stock for products already in your inventory all work with no connection. Two things need the internet: looking up a brand-new barcode to fill in a name and photo automatically (optional — you can type the details instead), and syncing changes to your other devices or your team, which catches up once you’re back online.
Does Magpie replace my POS?
No. Magpie tracks what you have in stock — it doesn’t ring up sales or take payments, and it doesn’t connect to your till. Think of it as the stock count your POS never quite keeps honest.
What happens if I change or lose my iPhone?
On Pro or Team, sign in to the same Apple Account on the new device and your inventory syncs back down from your own iCloud. On the Free plan your inventory is stored only on that one device — Magpie holds no copy of it — so it carries over only through an iPhone backup or device transfer.
What if my iCloud storage is full?
Synced inventory counts against your own iCloud storage — mostly text, though product photos add up. If iCloud is full, changes stay safely on your device but stop uploading until you free up space or add storage. The Free plan doesn’t sync at all, so it doesn’t use iCloud storage.
How do I get started?
Download Magpie, add your first products by scanning them or importing your spreadsheet, then start a count session and work a shelf. That’s usually enough to tell whether it fits how your shop runs.
